Service Dog Training Ontario is a select group of Canadian trainers who have been educated in Concept training and Canine Behavior Modification. They are certified, or working towards certification in disciplines specific to service dog training. All our trainers must have current credentials in support careers including first responders, life coaching/counselling, and psychology.
We do not measure our success by selling the most courses to people. We measure our success by making the journey easier for our clients and ensuring their dogs will have the skills needed to ‘never let their handlers down’, and ‘never just stop working’.
We follow LIMA Standards
“LIMA” – “least intrusive, minimally aversive.” LIMA describes a trainer or behavior consultant who uses minimally aversive, humane, effective tactics likely to succeed in achieving a training or behavior change objective. LIMA adherence requires trainers to be adequately educated and experienced in order to ensure that these standards are adhered to, even when a dog is displaying difficult behavior.
